Activities of daily living (ADL) refers to six activities (bathing, dressing, transferring, using the toilet, eating, and walking) that reflect the patient's capacity for self-care.

Unlike Home Health Care, Home Care is classified as a non-medical form of elderly care, and can be provided by persons who are not nurses, doctors, or other licensed medical personnel. It is best suited for individuals who do not require constant medical supervision.
